About lisacameron

Hello,

My name is Lisa Cameron and my son Steven just enlisted into the Army.  He is headed off to basic training in Georgia on July 7, 2009.   I have cried a river for I know what risks that he will have to face while over seas, but I do believe that he will be trained to take care of himself.  I must have faith, this I know, buy my heart it still does ache at the thought of his seperation from our family.  Steven is highly intelligent, and has common sense as well, I believe that he will do extremely well, and take care of himself.  He could have done anything that he wanted to, and he is a trained welder by trade.  He has wanted to serve his country ever since he was a young child by enlisting into the Army, so I have chose to support him in every way that I can.  I am having a huge party for him before he leaves for basic training, and I would like a list of things that me and my family can get for him that he will need while enlisted and stationed in all parts of the world.  I would greatly appreciate any help that you couldl give me.  Thank You for your support, and God Bless You and America.

Actually there is not much that he will need immediately. He will go through basic training, in which, most things that he needs will be limited. It is after that, when he finishes, and then returns home on leave, that he will need things.

You may want to prepare, by baking him a tin of cookies. A plastic bag would be suitable for that, since he may have to board a plane to go to his next destination.

Write to him often, since communication is very important. You may also want to have all the friends and relatives do the same.
